When one of your own gets married and you come from a creative family you know everyone is going to pitch in. Flowers by oldest sister, photographs by your brother-in-law and a cake by your youngest sister were just some of the contributions. Alice had been inspired to wear a family heirloom as her wedding dress, it was the very dress worn by her mum and her grandmother before that. Over 60 years old, it set the theme of the day, a classic affair with a nod to the family’s heritage.

Choosing the secret walled Pioneer Women’s Memorial Gardens for the ceremony, guests arrived to a very private intimate space. The sun was shining on the gorgeous December day and guests were enjoying drinks before the bride arrived. A romantic ceremony hosted by the wonderful celebrant, Janet Hussey was concluded with an open bar around the pond, guests mingling in the evening light and enjoying this beautiful day.

added another deeply personal element to her day, with a quick change into a cocktail frock made by her mum. Drinks and dancing followed at the Wayside Inn in Port Melbourne and the amazing cake was cut and served to guests. We all partied and enjoyed what has become a special memory for our family.
